Humanitarian Affairs Council condemns aggression coalition’s crime against civilians in Jawf

SANAA, Aug. 10 (YPA) – The Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation on Monday condemned the continuation of Saudi-US aggression coalition in committing crimes against the Yemeni people for nearly six years.

The Council denounced, in a statement, the aggression coalition warplanes’ bombing on citizens on board four cars on a family visit in al-Ma’tara area in Khab Washaf district of Jawf, which led to the killing of 20, most of them children and women, and wounding seven others.

The statement pointed out that removing Saudi Arabia from the list of shame for violators of children’s rights in Yemen gave it the green light to commit more of these brutal crimes against civilians, in flagrant violation of the rules of international humanitarian law.

The Council condemned at the same time the shameful silence of the international community, which was and still is one of the most important reasons for the continuation of war crimes against Yemen.

The Council called on the United Nations and its bodies to assume their responsibility in pressuring the aggression coalition countries to abide by the international laws and conventions that are guaranteed to civilians, and work to stop these crimes and hold their perpetrators accountable.
