US Corona virus cases exceed 5 million

SANAA, Aug. 9 (YPA) – The death toll from confirmed cases of the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the US exceeded five million mark, Reuters reported.

At least one in 66 Residents of the United States has the infection that causes Covid-19, the agency said.

More than 160,000 deaths from the epidemic have been recorded in the country, or about 25% of the global pandemic death toll.

198 days after the first covid-19 infection was recorded in its territory, the United States retains a huge lead in the list of countries most affected by the epidemic worldwide.

The pandemic hit the US economy, with the unemployment rate of 3.5% in February jumping sharply to 14.7% in April (an unprecedented level) and then falling so far to 10.2%.
