Clashes renewed in downtown Marib

MARIB, July 28 (YPA) – Armed confrontations returned significantly on Tuesday in al-Rowik area of Marib city between militants of Islah Party and tribesmen.

According to local in Marib province, the Islah militants, backed by Saudi-led coalition forces, started this morning to launch attacks on al-Damashiqa and al-Samra tribes, branch of Abidah tribe, in al-Rowik area hours after the tribesmen took control the area.

The clashes between the two parties extended to the outskirts of Wadi Abidah, and resulted in a large number of dead and wounded on both sides and the burning of seven oil tankers belonging to the trader al-Hothaili, who is close to the Islah party leaders, the sources added.
