Over 17,000 Yemeni families displaced due to war in 2020: IOM

SANAA, July 21 (YPA) – More than 17,000 Yemeni families have been displaced from their areas since the beginning of 2020 year due to escalating of the conflict in Yemen, International Organization for Migration (IOM ) said in a statement on Tuesday.

The statement stated that 89 new displaced families were registered in Taiz, Dhalea and Hodeidah provinces during the current month of July.

The five-year old war in Yemen has left one of the worsening humanitarian crises in the world and caused collapse of the health sector, according to the United Nations’ reports.

Since March 26, 2015, the Saudi-led coalition has intervened in Yemen’s sovereignty and internal affairs, and waged a military operating against the Yemeni army and people in flagrant violations of the international conventions.
