SANAA, July 21 (YPA) – Groups of protesters in American city of Seattle carried out looting and throwing rocks and bottles at police officers.
Seattle police said that a group of demonstrators targeted several companies in the city center, which resulted in the injury of at least 12 officers, noting that two protesters had been arrested.
American media reported that the protests started on Sunday morning and were initially peaceful, adding that a group of people armed with baseball bats appeared at midday in the streets.
In addition, hundreds of demonstrators gathered in several US states, set fire to the drums, set up poetry evenings and used fire to express their anger against the government as part of the protest campaigns, knowing that the police asked the protesters to leave or be arrested, due to the riots that some of them had carried out in several American states and cities such as Colorado, Portland and Seattle.
It is worth noting that mass protests and riots hit American cities in late May – early June, after the death of George Floyd at the hands of the police in Minneapolis.
