SANAA, July 20 (YPA) – The Yemeni Oil Company said that the coalition forces hold 19 oil ships, including three ships carrying diesel and two ships loaded with domestic gas.
The company reaffirmed that the coalition continued to detain (14) oil ships with a total tonnage of (359,030) tons of gasoline and diesel materials, and for varying periods, which reached a maximum for ships currently held for a period of “120” days.
The company noted that the period of arbitrary detention in previous cases amounted to approximately five months, in clear violation of the provisions of the International Convention on Human Rights, the rules of international humanitarian law, and all applicable laws and customs.
The company stressed that the coalition insists on its permanent disregard for the substance and goals of the Sweden Agreement, which stressed in its entirety the necessity of facilitating the arrival of basic materials and humanitarian aid to the port of Hodeidah in a way that meets the needs and aspirations of the Yemeni people.
The company said: “These factual data contradict completely with what was stated in the briefings of the UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, before the Security Council, on January 16, 2020, and on October 22, 2019, during which he claimed that the fuel ships entered the port of Hodeidah without any obstacles.”
