Shooting targets pro-STC demonstration in Lahj

LAHJ, July 18 (YPA) – Unidentified gunmen on Saturday opened fire on a protest demonstration organized by the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) supporters in Lahj governorate.

Media sources said that tribal gunmen shot at demonstrators from sons of al-Sabiha tribes in Tor al-Baha area in Lahj, who went out to protest the deterioration of basic services and in support of the self-management called for by the STC in last April.

The sources added that the gunmen fled to an unknown destination after the attack, suggesting that Lahj’s governor, appointed by Hadi’s government, was behind that attack on the protest demonstration.
