Clashes leave one dead in Taiz

TAIZ, July 12 (YPA) – Clashes between Islah militants and the UAE-backed factions resumed on Sunday morning in the southwestern countryside of Taiz province, local sources said.

According to the sources, clashes broke out in the Area of Al-Birian area and the city of Al-Turbah district.

This follows the Turkish-backed Islah militants pushed significant reinforcements into the strongholds of pro-UAE factions on Yemen’s west coast.

Late Saturday, the military police factions, the right-wing for the Islah militants sought to increase their presence in the country, as the 35th Armored Brigade rejected Hadi’s decision to appoint a commander affiliated with the Islah party as the commander of the brigade, which is accused of masterminding his assassination.

Meanwhile, sources in the 35th Armored Brigade said that one of its soldiers, died of his wounds he had sustained during an attack by the forces of the 4th Brigade on the commander of the 35th Brigade Marwan Al-Bareh on Saturday evening in the center of the city of Al-Turhah.
