Law professor assassinated in Yemen’s capital

UPDATE 1: SANAA, Jan. 27 (YPA) – A senior professor at Sanaa university was assassinated on Saturday in downtown the Yemeni capital Sanaa by unknown gunmen riding a motorcycle, witnesses and police officials told Yemen Press Agency.

Raji Ahmed Hameed el-Deen, professor of Law at Sanaa University, who also serves as president of private Iqra University, was shot dead by the gunmen at al Qahirah street while he was standing next to his car.

The gunmen fled the scene as police launched a large-scale search campaign to bring the perpetrators to the justice.
