Pelosi calls for sanctions against Russia

SANAA, July 2 (YPA) – The President of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, said on Wednesday that the United States should impose immediate sanctions on Russia after reports that Moscow paid money to the Taliban militants with the aim of killing American soldiers in Afghanistan.
“We must impose sanctions on Russia, and we must do so now,” Pelosi said in an interview with the MSNBC television channel.

It is noteworthy that US President Donald Trump said earlier: that the intelligence services informed him that media reports about the Russian intelligence offering money to the “Taliban” movement in exchange for killing US soldiers “untrustworthy.”

The Russian embassy in Washington had strongly denied the authenticity of the “New York Times” article, calling for the newspaper to stop publishing false news.
