HADHRAMAUT, June 30 (YPA) – On Tuesday, the Saudi-led coalition continued to put more pressure on forces loyal to Hadi government “on the ground in an attempt to force it to accept the implementation of the political part of the Riyadh agreement.
This comes amid a stalled Saudi-sponsored political negotiation for the third day in a row.
Local sources in Hadhramaut said that the UAE occupation forces stormed the port of Mukalla and seized five containers full of money printed abroad, which Hadi’s government was planning to transport to Marib.
The sources pointed out that the containers were transferred to al-Rayyan airport, which the UAE forces take as a military base.
The sources said the coalition had drawn up two options for “Hadi” forces between complying with Saudi demands or transferring the money to Aden, referring to its handover to the UAE-backed Transitional Southern Council.
The confiscation of the more than 200 billion riyals in printed funds would exacerbate the situation of Hadi’s government, which is under increasing financial pressure, most of the is the seizure of its funds by the STC militias in Aden and the reduction of Saudi Arabia’s expenditures after the expulsion of several of its leaders from Riyadh hotels.
