26 people died as boat capsizes off Bangladesh

SANAA, June 29 (YPA) – At least 26 people were killed on Monday morning in a boat capsizing accident in Buriganga River, which flows southwest of the suburbs of Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh.

According to local media sources, the boat began to sink after colliding with another boat, larger than it.

The Bangladesh Emergency Authority stated that 15 bodies had been recovered, for 10 men, three women and two children from the boat, who totaled between 50 and 60 people.

Later, the sources stated that the number of victims reached 26, in a finalized outcome.
