ABYAN, June 26 (YPA) – Fighting between the UAE-backed Southern transitional council (STC’s militias and Hadi forces resumed in Abyan on Friday morning, after the coalition has failed to establish a ceasefire despite the dispatch of monitoring teams, local sources said.
According to the sources, the front of the coastal city of Shuqrah in the occupied province of Abyan has been witnessing armed clashes between the Emirati-backed Militia on one hand and Hadi’s forces and al-Islah militia on the other.
The heavy and medium-range weapons were used in the fighting and they exchanged artillery fire on the homes of citizens in villages near Sheikh Salem.
Abyan province has witnessed heavy coalition flights in a clear message to Hadi’s forces, which Saudi Arabia and the UAE have accused of not committing to the ceasefire.
