SANAA, June 26 (YPA) – An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale on Friday hit northwest China, with no casualties reported.
According to Xinhua, an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale hit Yutian County in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 5:05 am Friday (Beijing time), and no casualties have been reported so far.
The epicenter was monitored at a depth of 10 kilometers, at 35.73 degrees north latitude and 82.33 degrees east longitude, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The average altitude is about 5 km around the epicenter of the earthquake about 5300 meters, and there are no villages 20 km around the epicenter, according to the earthquake directorate in the region.
