Moscow: US supply of weapons to Ukraine will worsen conflict

SANAA, June 26 (YPA) – Russia has confirmed that the supply of weapons by the United States to Ukrainian forces will lead to a worsening of the political-military conflict in Donbas region of southeast Ukraine.
“We were alerted in a statement by the media office of the United States embassy in Kiev about supplying Ukraine with US weapons and military equipment, including anti-tank missile systems, with a general amount of $ 60 million,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a news conference on Thursday.

Zakharova added: “Our appreciation of such measures by Washington is well known to the American side, and it remains steady, and that pumping products for military use in the Ukrainian armed forces will only lead to a deterioration of the conflict in the southeast of the country and encourage revenge tendencies of the War Party in Kiev.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman also indicated that the presence of US military personnel in the Ukraine military exercises contradicted the “Minsk Group” for conflict resolution in Donbas, which provides for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Ukrainian territory.
