Clashes erupt again among Islah, STC militias in Abyan

ABYAN, June 23 (YPA) – Fierce clashes renewed on Tuesday among Islah party’s militias and southern transitional council (STC)’ militants in Abyan province, sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources said that Islah militiamen launched wide-scale attacks on Zunjbar city and bombarded the same city with artillery and heavy machine guns.

The escalation comes hours after the announcement of a comprehensive cease-fire, welcoming the parties ’acceptance of the initiative.
