SANAA, June 16 (YPA) – South Korean media announced on Tuesday that explosions and smoke were heard in the Kison region of North Korea.

According to the South Korean Yonhap news agency, “Smoke was detected from the Gaeseong Industrial Park area in North Korea’s border city.”

The agency quoted a military source as saying that “smoke was detected accompanied by the sound of an explosion from the Gaeseong Industrial Zone, noting that “North Korea is likely to blow up the inter-Korean liaison office in Kaesong.”
The North Korean Army General Staff announced that it was studying the possibility of deploying forces in the DMZ, indicating that the army would implement immediately and continuously, that is, a decision and decree by the party and the government.

A source in the South Korean army said that its monitoring of North Korea has been strengthened, but that no unusual movements have been discovered so far.
