Security officer loyal to UAE-backed STC wounded in attack in Aden

ADEN, June 15 (YPA) – On Monday, a security force commander loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) was injured in an attack on his convoy in the southern port city of Aden, southern Yemen.

Local sources said that unknown gunmen on a motorcycle attacked the convoy of Aden security commander Saleh Sureeb and tried to assassinate him, but his companions countered the attack and clashed with the gunmen.

He was injured in the attack, according to the sources.

The motives for the assassination attempt are not yet known, but they come amid a lack of security in the STC-controlled province, which has been reflected in assassinations and mutual liquidations between the parties to the conflict.
