Clashes break out between Hadi forces , STC militias in Shabwah

SHABWAH, June 13 (YPA) – Armed clashes erupted on Friday between the so-called special security forces loyal to coalition-backed government and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias in the southern Shabwah province.

 Local sources said that the clashes took place in the vicinity of the government complex building in Nassab.

 This comes after hours of clashes between Islah militants and gunmen of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the Jardan district, north of Shabwa, which resulted in deaths and injuries on both sides.

 According to the sources, among the dead was the brother of the commander of the Special Security Forces in Shabwah Abdulrahman Akab al-Sharif.

 The clashes erupted hadi forces suppressed a demonstration by the Jordan tribes in protest against the killing of one of their sons and the deadline granted by the tribes to hand over the perpetrators, one of the sources added.
