SANAA, May 9 (YPA) – Head of mission of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) organization in Yemen, Joao Martins, on Wednesday said civilians, including children, were killed and maimed by Saudi-led airstrikes on the capital Sanaa.
“Again, civilians are victims of air strikes and struggle to survive in hospitals,” Martins added.
The raids hit on Monday a densely populated neighborhood in the capital Sanaa, killing at least six people and wounding 72 others, according to a statement issued by the organization.
Two hospitals backed by the organization in Sanaa witnessed a collective influx of dead and wounded as a result of the raids that targeted the presidential office located near a hotel, pharmacies, a bank and commercial shops, the statement said.
According to the organization, a medical team affiliated with it had visited a hospital at the time of the attack, noting that the raids took place in rapid succession.
The statement confirmed that MSF had sent additional supplies to the two hospitals.
