Supreme Political Council condemns detention of oil derivatives’ vessels

SANAA, June 11 (YPA)- The Supreme Political Council  on Wednesday condemned Saudi-led coalition detention oil derivatives, food vessels and preventing their arrival at the port of Hodeidah.

The move came during a meeting chaired by President Mahdi al-Mashat, in  he discussed the latest local and international developments.

The Supreme Political Council held the United Nations responsible for silence towards this crime.

The meeting expressed its rejection of UN behavior that demanded a stop of paying half of the salaries of state employees at the beginning of Ramadan and before Eid al-Fitr, and threatened if the payment continues, it would block the access of oil derivatives.

In the meeting, they discussed the developments due to the Corona pandemic, praising the efforts made by the Epidemics Committee, the Ministry of Health, the relevant authorities in all local institutions.

President al-Mashat thanked the medical staff, the Ministry of Health and the Committee for Epidemics for the efforts and sincerity they showed in saving citizens’ lives despite the scarcity of capabilities and the continued blockade of the country.

The Council called on the Yemeni people to be reassured and not to panic or fear the COVID-19, since fear, caused by media propaganda, is the main cause of higher death rates worldwide than those caused by the virus itself.

The meeting stressed the importance of raising awareness and showing a responsible behavior in response to COVID-19, without exaggeration or intimidation.

Many countries realized that their wrong policy in dealing with the pandemic caused more deaths. The psychological factor was negatively impacting people.

Moreover, the Council condemned the complicity of the United Nations and its pressure on the Council, regarding Safer, the floating oil tanker.

The meeting accused the UN of serving the agenda of the aggression, ignoring that the US-Saudi aggression has not allowed the maintenance of the tanker nor selling its loads for the benefit of all the Yemeni people.

“It is the United Nations “to push for peace and political solution and stop the aggression against Yemen, especially in light of the Corona pandemic, which is accompanied by an unjust siege imposed on the Yemeni people,” thee Council said.

Regarding the city of Marib, the Council stressed the points raised by the national reconciliation team to the UN envoy, warning against the consequences of the aggression and its mercenaries looting the oil reserves in Marib or trying to stop pumping gas.

The Council indicated that attempts of aggression to open new fronts or use social figures in the Marib Governorate or others would be unsuccessful.

“The fate of those deceived will be failure and defeat like those who preceded them, especially after dropping all their flimsy arguments and the exposure of their failed positions on the national scene,” the Council warned.

The meeting also touched on the so-called donors’ conference held recently in Riyadh.

The conference was merely an attempt to wash away the crimes of aggression that had been committed against the free Yemeni people for more than five years and that it was nothing more than a lackluster presence to drop the duty and involve the criminal in praying for the victim, the council said during the meeting

The meeting also reviewed a number of governments, military and security reports, and called for sharpening their concerns and raising the level of performance with all available capacities.

It praised the maintenance of exchange rate stability against the rise and manipulation of exchange rates in the occupied areas, the circulation of illegal currency and the printing of more of them.
