Iran: 2000+ cases of corona within a day, death toll exceeds 8,500

SANAA, June 10 (YPA) – Iranian health authorities announced on Wednesday the registration of more than 80 deaths and two thousand new infections of Corona virus during the past 24 hours.

During a press briefing, Iranian Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education spokeswoman Sadat Larry confirmed the death of 81 people with corona virus during the last day (compared to 74 deaths on Tuesday), which raises the death toll from the epidemic in the country to 8506.

During the last 24 hours, the Ministry monitored a new infection with the virus that causes “Covid-19”, bringing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 177938, including 140,590 cases of recovery.

To date, more than 1,151 million tests have been performed in Iran to diagnose corona infections.

The spokeswoman pointed out that Khuzestan province is still in the “red state”, while six other provinces are still in the “state of warning”.
