SANAA, June 8 (YPA) – Afghan forces cleared four villages and killed seven Taliban takfiri militants in the Shahr Bazarg district of Badakhshan province in northern Afghanistan.
According to Xinhua agency, Sanaa Allah Rouhani, a spokesman for the provincial police, said on Monday that four villages have been cleared since the start of the clearance operation in the troubled area three days ago, when seven gunmen were killed and six others were injured.
The official stated that no security personnel and civilians were injured during the ongoing operation, adding that the operation will continue until the whole area is cleared of militants.
The Taliban movement, which is active in parts of Badakhshan province, has not yet commented on the operation.
