Former Saudi player arrested for satirical tweet

SANAA, June 8 (YPA) – The Saudi Public Prosecution ordered the arrest of the former Saudi international player and former Al-Nasr club player, Fahd Al-Harifi, because of his tweet on his account on Twitter that ridiculed Al-Hilal in the shadow of the “Corona” virus crisis.
Al-Harifi wrote a tweet via his Twitter account, commenting on the Ministry of Interior’s actions regarding the Corona virus in Jeddah, to prevent the spread of the disease, and said: “With these words and these data, I do not rule out the return of the league .. Al Hilal is accustomed to everything Even if it is life or death. ”
The arrest decision came despite the fact that Al-Harifi deleted his tweet and apologized for it in another tweet in which he wrote: “I was intending in it that all the precautionary measures issued by the Ministry of Interior are the most important.”
He added: “There are those who understood it in another way, so I removed it in time, and I apologize for not stating my intention in the correct terms.
