SANAA, June 3 (YPA) – The forces of the so-called “Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias backed by the UAE have arrested dozens of people in Yemen’s southern city of Aden, according to London-based Al-Arabi al-Jadid’s report on Tuesday.
The report said that the campaign of arrests came on the background of the assassination of the southern photographer and journalist Nabil Al-Qaiti.
The report affirmed that the STC militias raided residential neighborhoods in Dar Saad district in north of Aden governorate under the pretext of searching for the perpetrators, who carried out the operation of the assassination.
The article pointed out that the STC militias destroyed more than 10 motorbikes being accused of following the assassination cells, although the assassination was carried out by 4 armed men on a car in the city.
Meanwhile, Yemeni observers, on social media, expressed their fear that the assassination of al-Qaiti was planned by the Emirates-backed factions, especially the security authorities in Aden have not published any footage about the scene of the incident yet.
On Tuesday, the former southern leader of the General People’s Congress Party, Yasser al-Yamani, said in Twitter account, that al-Qaiti was not assassinated in front of his house in Dar Saad district in Aden Governorate but he was killed by gunfire from the so-called Presidential Guard and the Saudi-backed Islah militias in Sheikh Salem area in Zanjibar city of Abayn province.
