Eight motorcycles burned in campaign of raids, kidnappings launched by STC militia in Aden

ADEN, June 2 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia on Tuesday set fire to eight motorcycles belonging to citizens in the southern port city of Aden, witnesses said.

According to witnesses in the city, the STC militias burned eight motorcycles belonging to citizens in Dar Saad area, following the earlier assassination of AFP photographer Nabil al-Qaiti in front of his home in the same area.

Witnesses said that the arson attack on motorcycles by the STC militias, on the charge that they were behind the assassinations in the city, was a sign of failure and security failure.

Other sources said that transitional militias led by Saleh al-Sayed carried out a campaign of kidnappings and arbitrary arrests in the Dar Saad area.

The militiamen, on board an armoured vehicle and six military pickup vehicles, arrested 10 youths from the Ta’izz-Aden line neighborhood and took them to an unknown destination.

The sources pointed out that the campaign carried out by the STC militias,  in search for the perpetrators of the assassination of photojournalist Nabil Al-Qaiti.
