Aden residents protest against lack of basic services

ADEN, May 31 (YPA) – Hundreds of angry citizens blocked a number of main streets in the southern port city of Aden on Sunday evening, local sources said.

According to the sources, residents in Crater and Mansoura districts held an uprising against in protest against the lack of essential and basic services such as health and electricity services in the city.

The sources said that angry protesters blocked the main streets and set fire to rubber tires to cut off traffic inside the towns.

The protesters came out with their personal weapons to defend themselves from the UAE-backed the Southern Transitional Council (STC) Militias, the sources added.

The sources said that the participants in the protest chanted anti-coalition and transitional slogans together.

The protesters denounced the deterioration of health and electricity services, the spread of various epidemics and diseases that claimed the lives of hundreds of people in the city.

They demanded the departure of the coalition from Aden and all southern provinces, which increased the suffering of citizens in the occupied areas.

Aden city has been witnessing a public discontent over the lack of basic services, which led citizens to take to the streets.
