15 killed in attack in northern Burkina Faso
SANAA, May 30 (YPA) – At least 15 people were killed in a raid on a commercial vehicle involving traders in a town in northern Burkina Faso.
The Burkina Faso government said on Saturday, in a statement, that the attack, which was carried out by unknown persons on Friday, also injured a number of people, in addition to the presence of many missing persons, according to Reuters news agency.
Burkina Faso has been fighting militants with links to al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorists since 2017.
Hundreds have been killed in the past year in the country, and about half a million have been forced to flee their homes due to the attacks, which have also fueled ethnic and religious tensions.
On Thursday, the armed forces said that the forces had destroyed a militant camp in another northern province.
The armed forces indicated that ten gunmen were killed and one soldier wounded during the operation.
