Security official, four companions killed in Hadhramaut

HADHRAMAUT, May 26 (YPA) – A Security official loyal to coalition-backed government and four of his companions were killed in Hadhramaut province, southeastern Yemen, local sources said on Tuesday morning.

According to the sources, an improvised explosive device exploded and targeted a car carrying, the security director of Shibam district, Saleh Bin Ali Jaber in Hawtat Ahmed bin Zain area in Shibam Hadhramaut.

The explosion took place during his supervision of the implementation of the curfew in the directorate to reduce spread of the Corona epidemic, one of the sources said.

There has been no comment from the security authorities in Hadhramaut province so far.

It is worth mentioning that security director of Shibam district has been subjected to several assassination attempts during the past period, and the district is one of the most recent directorates in Wadi Hadhramaut that witnessed killings and assassinations.
