Saudi forces continue to deploy militarily in Socotra

SOCOTRA, May 16 (YPA) – The Saudi occupation forces heavily deployed on Saturday a number of military vehicles in Socotra Island port, according to sources.

The sources affirmed that the Saudi-backed Islah militants had deployed in the port, reinforced by Saudi military vehicles after preventing an UAE ship landing in the port by the militants.

The sources confirmed also that the deployment by the militants with the Saudi forces in the port came after the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s failure to stage a demonstration in Hadibo city to condemn preventing entry of the Emirati ship to the port.

Socotra Island has witnessed for the past days the violent clashes between Islah militants and the STC militias Hadibo city, after the withdrawal by Saudi forces from all military points.
