Emergency room formed to tackle floods damage in capital Sanaa

SANAA, April 14 (YPA) – A meeting, held Tuesday in the capital Sanaa, discussed measures to tackle the damages caused by heavy rains and torrents flowing into the capital from Khawlan area.

In the meeting, attended by Member of the Supreme Political Council Ahmed Ghalib al-Rahwi and Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, Mayor of the capital Sanaa Hamoud Obad reviewed the efforts made to provide equipment and machines for drainage of rainwater and shelter and relief assistance to the affected families.

Obad indicated that an emergency room has been formed to follow up, assess and count the damage in the capital’s districts due to the floods.

Al-Rahwi appreciated the efforts made by the capital secretariat leadership, the emergency teams and service offices in the field, stressing the necessity of continuing these actions to improve all services.

For his part, Dr. Maqbouli urged the leadership of the Capital Secretariat and the service offices to make more efforts to deal with the damage caused by the torrents and remove accumulated waste in the streets and neighborhoods.
