Popular uprising in Aden closes service office, cuts off streets

ADEN, April 5 (YPA) – Dozens of citizens in Crater district in Aden city , southern Yemen, took to the in protest against the deterioration of key services in the city.

The demonstrators closed the water office in the district and expelled the staff in protest against the water shortage in their homes for the second month in a row, according to eyewitnesses.

The eyewitnesses said that the protesters cut off the main streets leading to the Crater area, indicating that the UAE-backed Southern Transition Council’s militia fired live bullets at the demonstration.

The protesters held the UAE-Saudi occupation responsible for the collapse and deterioration of the main services in all areas of Aden city for more than five years.

Aden residents suffer from the deterioration of the various basic services, including water and sanitation services, in addition to the security chaos that threatens the lives of citizens in the city.

For the fifth year since their occupation of the city in August 2015, Saudi-led coalition countries have made false promises to citizens, amid the aggravation of the suffering of the people.
