UAE calls on its citizens abroad to return home

SANAA, March 17 (YPA) – The UAE authorities called on all its citizens travelling around the world to return home in light of developments caused by the new Coronavirus epidemic.

The State Department, in a statement issued Monday evening, said it calls on all citizens travelling abroad for the need to return to the homeland due to the difficulty of travelling and within the framework of the UAE’s constant concern for the health and safety of citizens.”

It also called on “students and patients who are citizens abroad to coordinate with the authorities through the state embassy in the country of residence.”

“It is important for citizens travelling to communicate with the nearest state mission abroad or with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation call centre on the following number 80044444,” the ministry said.

The statement also stressed that “Emirati travelers must be registered in the “My Presence” service through its website www.mofaic.gov.ae which facilitates communication with UAE nationals in emergency situations.”

As of dawn Tuesday, 98 cases of covid-19, which killed more than 7,000 people worldwide, had been reported in the UAE.
