SANAA, March 17 (YPA) – French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner has announced that 100,000 police will be deployed on the streets to ensure that measures to fight the Coronavirus are in place.
The minister confirmed that checkpoints will be set up throughout the country to enforce the lockdown.
He called on all citizens to stay in doors.
Fines of up to 135 euros will be imposed on each offender, he said.
The move came following French President Emmanuel Macron’s decisions to fight the virus, which has claimed the lives of 148 citizens in the country.
