SANAA, March 15 (YPA) – Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Yemeni Association for Consumer Protection (YACP) on Sunday organized a celebration on the World Consumer Rights Day, approved by the United Nations on March 15 of each year.
At the celebration, Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs Mahmoud al-Junaid affirmed that the celebration of the World Consumer Rights Day is an opportunity to enhance societal awareness and warn people of indiscriminate consumption or the acquisition of goods without ensuring their safety and suitability.
Al-Junaid pointed out that consumer protection means protecting citizen from the risks to which he may be exposed in his commodity living needs.
He praised the efforts of the Ministry, the Yemeni Standardization Metrology & Quality Control Organization (YSMO), the YACP and the private sector in protecting citizens from the risks of counterfeit goods.
