Death toll of corona virus in China rises to 3,169

SANAA, March 12 (YPA) – The death toll from the new corona virus has risen to 3,169 in the country, Chinese authorities said Thursday, following 11 new death cases in the past 24 hours.

The number of confirmed infected cases reached 80,793, and approximately 62,793 cases were cured following treatment.

“On Wednesday, the State Health commission received data from 31 provinces confirming that 15 new cases the virus were recorded on March 12, bringing the number of people infected with corona to 80,793, and 11 death cases, bringing the number of death toll to 3,169, and nearly 62,793 cases were recovered following treatment,” the National Health Commission of China said in a statement.

The statement noted that there were 15 suspected cases of infection.

As the coronavirus continues to spread around the world, many countries have stepped up precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

On Wednesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the new corona virus, which is spreading around the world, as a “global epidemic”, but stressed that it could still be “controlled”.
