Coalition uses IDP in Marib as human shields during confrontations: Tribal sheikh

MARIB, March 10 (YPA) – A senior tribal sheikhs loyal to the Saudi-backed Islah Party in Marib revealed on Tuesday that the Saudi-led coalition forces used the internally displaced people (IDP) as human shields during confrontations with the Yemeni army in Sarwah district.

Mohammed Saleh Al-Muradi, one of sheikh of Marib loyal to the coalition, confirmed on his Facebook account that the coalition forces have taken the IDP’s camps in the district and Marib entrances to the city of Marib as strategic military locations to stop the Yemeni army’s advance.

Al-Muradi called on the coalition forces to neutralize the camps of the IDP from the clashes and not to use the displaced as the human shields.

Earlier in the day, the army and the committees were able to take over strategic sites nearing Marib city.
