Parliament Speaker congratulates Yemeni women on Int’l Women’s Day

SANAA, March 8 (YPA) – Speaker of the Parliament Yahya Ali al-Ra’i on Sunday said that the Yemeni woman has a great record and clear imprints in the achievements and gains achieved n the various stages that Yemen has gone through.

On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, which falls on the 8th of March, the Parliament’s Speaker extended his congratulations to Yemeni women in all facilities of work and production and housewives.

In the ceremony held Sunday by the Parliament’s Presidency and its General Secretariat on this occasion, al-Ra’i lauded the efforts of women during the current circumstances, in light of the continued siege and aggression led by Saudi Arabia and with the US direct sponsorship.

He pointed out that women bear the great part of the suffering of society, noting to the Yemeni woman’s support for her brother, the man, on the fronts, with various forms of moral and material support.

Al-Ra’i indicated that the House of Representatives stands by the rights of women through the laws it approved in various fields.
