Civil defense extinguishes fire in capital Sanaa

SANAA, March 5 (YPA) – The civil defense men on Thursday managed to put out a fire in a number of shops near the outpatient clinics of Al-Thawra Hospital in Azal district of the capital Sanaa.

“The fire broke out in sponge shops in the first floor of a building, which led to the spread of the fire to the second and third floors of the building,” said Colonel Khalid al-Sharahi, Director of Orientation at the Civil Defense Authority.

The cause of the fire is unknown so far, and the circumstances of the accident are being investigated, Colonel al-Sharahi explained.

He added that the fire caused material losses and damage to commercial shops, two apartments, and three cars were parking next to the shops.
