Saudi authorities prevent citizens from performing Umrah in Mecca

SANAA, March 4 (YPA) – Saudi authorities on Wednesday imposed ban on residents and citizens inside Kingdom to perform Umrah in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina due to coronavirus fears, according to Saudi media.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that the decision came as a precautionary measure to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

Last week, Saudi Arabia closed off the holiest cities before foreign pilgrims because of the coronavirus.
