Education Ministry denies bringing forward exams date because of coronavirus

SANAA, March 1 (YPA) – Deputy Minister of Education, Head of the Supreme Committee for Examinations, Dr. Hamdan al-Shami on Sunday denied that the date of final exams for this school year was brought forward as a precaution against the spread of coronavirus.

“What was reported by some news websites is a lie and baseless information,” the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) quoted Dr. al-Shami as saying.

Al-Shami added that the Ministry of the Public Health confirms that this virus has not entered the country, stressing that “the school calendar has not changed and the exams are still on schedule.”

He indicated to the continuous coordination and cooperation between the Ministries of Education and Health to closely follow any developments in this aspect.
