Islah Party destroys documents of Al-Qaeda militants in Taiz

TAIZ, Feb. 8 (YPA) – Private sources in Taiz province, southwest Yemen, on Saturday said that Islah Party’s militias had destroyed many files and personal documents belonging to members of the so-called “Al-Qaeda” organization.

The sources told “Ansarullah news website” that gunmen affiliated with the 170th Air Defense Brigade, which is controlled by Islah Party, attacked the Civil Status Authority in Taiz on Friday.

The gunmen destroyed many servers of personal cards and burnt dozens of files in the Authority’s archive, in an attempt to obscure the identity of dozens of Al-Qaeda elements, who had previously been granted personal cards and passports with fake names, according to the sources.

The sources added that the Islah militias also looted many documents, including the data of a large number of political and religious figures in the province.
