Saudi Arabia reveals its position on departure of American forces from Iraq
SANAA, Jan. 28 (YPA) – Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan stressed that the Kingdom does not want the American forces to leave Iraq, pointing out that the exit of these forces will push the region to become less secure.
In an interview with the American “CNN” network, Bin Farhan emphasized that “the American presence in the region played an important role in defeating the terrorist organization” ISIS, and it was a key in preventing the terrorist group from reappearing.
He added: “The United States of America has proven again that it is a reliable ally of the Kingdom and this is the same with regard to the Trump administration.”
The Iraqi capital, Baghdad, witnessed, last Friday, a massive demonstration, in response to the invitation of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, rejecting the American presence in Iraq.
