9 civilians killed by suicide bombing in Chad
SANAA, Jan. 21 (YPA) – Nine civilians, including two women, were killed on Monday night, as a result of a suicide attack by the “Boko Haram” Takfiri group in the Lake Chad region, according to Agence France Presse.
Chadian army spokesman, Colonel Azim Bermandwa, confirmed that a suicide bomber blew herself up on Monday evening in Kaiga Kendjeria, which resulted in the death of nine people, two women and seven men.
A few months ago, the Boko Haram penitential group linked to ISIS intensified its activity in the Lake Chad basin, which stretches between Chad, Cameroon, Niger and Nigeria.
Chad participates in the strength of the Sahel group, along with Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso and Mauritania, and the Chadian army announced the dispatch of a battalion of 480 members to the border crossing area, which is under attack by militants.
