Tunisian President tasked ex-finance minister to form government
SANAA, Jan. 21 (YPA) – Tunisian President Kais Saied on Monday commissioned former Finance Minister Elias Fakhfakh to form the new government.
The mandate comes, despite the refusal of some political parties represented in the House of Representatives to choose Fakhakh, and their adherence to other personalities such as Hakim bin Hamouda or Al-Fadil Abdul Kafi.
The commission came at the end of a series of consultations that the President of the Republic held with the parties, blocs, and coalitions in the House of Representatives, and after meetings with representatives of the largest national organizations and a number of personalities that were presented as candidates.
