Central Bank calls for taking legal measures against illegal currency circulation

SANAA, Jan. 18 (YPA) – The Central Bank of Yemen in Sanaa on Saturday called for taking legal measures against those who deal with the illegal currency after the expiry of the deadline for the currency compensation.

The Central Bank, in a statement, expressed thanks to citizens for their positive interaction with the bank’s decision to ban dealing with the illegal currency.

Iin its statement, the Bank praised the commercial sector’s commitment to the decision and calls on it to continue in order to avoid any legal action that may be taken against it in case of trading the illegal currency.

The bank explained that its decision aimed to protect the economy and prevent the inflation being witnessed by the occupied areas as a result of the circulation of that inflationary and non-economic currency.
