Shura calls for int’l investigation into war crimes in Yemen

SANAA, Dec. 25 (YPA) – The Shura Council on Wednesday condemned the crime of bombing al-Raqu market of Monabeh district in Saada province on Tuesday by Saudi-led coalition, which claimed lives of 17 civilians, including 12 Africans, and injured others.

In its condemnation statement, the Council called for the formation of an international investigation committee to probe into war crimes committed by Saudi-led coalition forces in Yemen.

The statement held the United Nations, the Security Council, the Human Rights Council, and the international community responsible for the crime as a result of their silence toward the daily war crimes committed by the aggression coalition against the Yemeni people.

The Council called on local and international organizations to take responsibility for monitoring, highlighting and documenting the massacres committed by the aggression coalition against the Yemeni people.

The statement noted that this crime is an extension of the previous crimes of targeting civilians in markets, housing, roads, wedding halls, mourning halls, hospitals, educational facilities and other civilian objects.
