Fierce fighting erupts between “Hadi’s forces and UAE-backed militias” in Abyan

ABYAN, Dec. 5 (YPA) – Fierce fighting broke out between Saudi-backed forces (Hadi and Islah militias) and UAE-backed forces (separatist militias in the southern province of Abyan, local sources reported on Thursday morning.

According to the sources, the UAE-backed militias prevented Hadi and Islah forces from entering the city and to head to the southern port city of Aden.

The sources confirmed that the Saudi-backed  forces attacked the positions of the security belt forces in Ahawr after preventing them from spreading and heading towards Aden province.

A commander of the southern resistance in Ahwar, Salem Awad al-Sahami, was killed in the fighting in the city, according to the sources.

Soldiers belonging to the Islah party attacked the southern forces, in a bid  to enter the city of Ahwar, which is a flagrant defiance of the directives of the Saudi Military Commission, which directed them to return to Marib immediately.

The sources explained that the clashes are still going on between the two parties until now.
