FM welcomes IOM’s new representative in Yemen

SANAA, Nov. 20 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Wednesday met with the newly appointed resident representative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Yemen Christa Rottensteiner.

Sharaf welcomed IOM new representative, confirming that she would receive all facilities from the National Salvation Government for the success of her work.

During the meeting, the Minister touched on the suffering of many Yemeni citizens in the Republic of South Korea who reached there after the start of the aggression on Yemen, as many of them face difficulties in residing and dealing with local authorities, and some of them were unable to return home.

He called on the organization to exert efforts to solve the issue of their residence and facilitate their return to Yemen for those who want in coordination with the Yemeni and Korean authorities.

After handing over her appointment letter, Rottensteiner confirmed that she would do her utmost to activate IOM’s office to ensure the delivery of its services and assistance to the largest possible number of beneficiaries.
