KIEV, Nov. 15 (YPA) – Ukraine announced on Friday the arrest of a senior leader of ISIS organization named Albara al-Shishani during a special joint operation with the United States and Georgia in Kiev province.
“As a result of a joint special operation of Ukrainian Security Service with Georgian Interior Ministry and the US CIA, one of the pivotal leaders of the terrorist organization ISIS was arrested,” the press service of the Ukrainian Security Service said in a statement.
The statement added that the detained man is a Georgian citizen, nicknamed Albara al-Shishani, who in 2012 became Emir of “Ahadun Ahad” group affiliated to ISIS in the province of Latakia in western Syria, and was appointed in 2013 as deputy war minister of ISIS, Abu Omar al-Shishani.
